Delivered for local schools:

  • $195,000 to create an engaging new nature playground and to support innovative science programs at Collier Primary School.
  • $4.5 million investment at Como Secondary College which has funded campus upgrades, including a state-of-the-art STEM classroom to inspire future innovators, a new canteen, a versatile multi-purpose learning space, and a car park upgrade to improve accessibility.
  • $242,000 for a new science lab, an open-air learning and play area, and a vibrant 'Sense of Wonder' mural that brings art to life at Curtin Primary School.
  • $1.325 million for Kensington Primary School towards a roof refurbishment, an enriching science program, and a brand-new basketball court.
  • $40,000 for Como Primary School's innovative science program.
  • Manning Primary School received solar panels through the Schools Clean Energy Technology Fund to help reduce energy costs and promote sustainability. Additionally, funding was provided to expand their science programs and to implement the 'Safe Routes to School' initiative, supporting safe and eco-friendly travel options.
  • South Perth Primary School benefited from the Schools Clean Energy Technology Fund with the installation of solar panels. Additional funding was allocated for an attendant at the Angelo Street crosswalk to ensure safer crossings for students.
  • Turkish Language School received funding to support the administration and operations of this community language school.

Delivered for local clubs: 

  • $17,000 for defibrillators in venues including South Perth Bowling Club, Como Bowling ClubManning Rippers Amateur Football Club, Trinity Aquinas Amateur Football Club, and Moresby Street Hall
  • $63,000 for accessible bathroom renovations at the South Perth Bridge Club.
  • $96,000 for new floodlights at Bill Grayden Reserve replacing outdated lighting with four new floodlights and an advanced lighting control system.
  • $83,000 for Como Bowling Club transformed the grass bowling green into a low-maintenance
    synthetic surface and improved surrounding facilities, enhancing the club's amenities
  • $19,000 for the Como Croquet Club to reconstruct two croquet courts with high-quality playing surfaces.
  • $30,000 to replace floodlights on eight courts at the Hensman Park Tennis Club.
  • $103,000 to upgrade at James Millar Oval including the installation of four 30-metre sports lighting towers with energy-efficient LED lights.
  • $41,000 to deliver 150-lux LED floodlighting for two bowling greens and to upgrade toilet facilities at the Manning Memorial Bowls Club.
  • $42,000 upgrade at Manning Tennis Club for improved floodlighting on ten courts and resurfacing of four Plexipave courts.
  • $32,000 for new practice nets and a mobile cage net system at the South Perth Cricket Club.
  • $34,000 upgrade to 350-lux LED floodlighting on ten courts at the South Perth Lawn Tennis Club.
  • $100,000 for a pump track at George Burnett Park to promote active lifestyles.

Delivered to improve local roads: 

  • $1.3M to upgrade the intersection of Mill Point Rd and Mends St in South Perth by installing a raised safety platform and modifying traffic signal. 
  • $46,667 to upgrade the intersection of Mill Point Rd and Forrest St in South Perth by installing median islands and line markings to protect right turning vehicles.
  • $250,000 for a bike path from Davilak Crescent to Godwin Avenue.
  • $260,000 for a safer intersection at Canning Hwy and Berwick St.
  • $70,000 for a safer intersection at Canning Hwy and Ryrie Ave.
  • $85,333 to close the southern approach on Edgecumbe Street at its intersection with Paterson Street in South Perth and install a cul-de-sac.
  • $336,000 for a safer intersection at Hayman Rd and Kent St.
  • $225,000 for a shared path from Goss Ave to Gillon St.
  • $25,000 for protected bike paths from Douglas Ave to Hayman Rd.

Delivered on infrastructure:

  • The installation of an accessible adult change facility at Sir James Mitchell Park in South Perth was made possible through a $2 million commitment to expand the network of Changing Places facilities across WA.
  • $2.6M to upgrade the Mends Street Jetty which includes a new boarding area compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), 20m-long pedestrian ramp connected to a floating boarding area with a gentle gradient, allowing the safe movement of all passengers and passenger gates to enable the ferry master to safely control the movement of passengers on and off the ferry, improved seating, and CCTV. 
  • $8 million for the construction of the new Kensington Fire Station enhances emergency response capabilities and provides modern facilities for both firefighters and the community.
  • $2.2 million for the underground power project in Como, covering the area bounded by Canning Highway, Ryrie Avenue, Blamey Place, and South Terrace, enhancing both the streetscape and functionality of the area.
  • $2.2 million for the underground power project in Manning, covering the area bounded by Manning Road, Kwinana Freeway, Hope Avenue, and Challenger Avenue, including the installation of new LED street lights.
  • $2 million allocated for planning a new state-of-the-art indoor sports facility—a big win for local basketball, netball, and volleyball fans

Delivered for the community: 

  • $3.5 million refurbishment of 18 social housing in South Perth has extended the life of these homes, with upgrades to plumbing, electrical systems, kitchens, and bathrooms, ensuring safe and secure housing for residents.
  • $5,000 for the Streets Alive 'Welcome to Manning' project to install traffic-calming features, including artwork on footpaths and roundabouts, to improve road safety in the high-pedestrian area along Welwyn Avenue in Manning.
  • $51 million investment has renewed Perth Zoo through its Master Plan. Key completed projects include a new café precinct, a nature-based accessible playground, and a state-of-the-art Primate Crossing in the gibbon habitat. The Parkland Heart Precinct has also enhanced visitor amenities with a new arbour, BBQ area, additional seating, event spaces, and an upgraded ablution block, including an accessible Changing Places facility.
  • Students from Clontarf Aboriginal College are participating in a workplace program at Perth Zoo, with eight students working towards a Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystems Management.
  • $700,000 towards the Djirda Miya Black Swan Habitat project, creating essential habitat for black swans and other wildlife along the Swan River. The project included a sheltered island, vegetated headlands, a beach area for waterbirds, and the planting of 11,000 native plants and 20 trees to support biodiversity.
  • $76,000 for the development of a cultural hub and gallery at Dumbartung Aboriginal Corporation to support education and appreciation of Aboriginal cultural heritage.
  • $4,400 to Perth Numismatic Society for a series of coin, medal, banknote, and stamp fairs in Perth's South Metro, promoting community connection and participation in the sharing and preservation of history.
  • $180,000 towards crisis and emergency relief through Southcare to support people experiencing financial hardship in South Perth and surrounding areas.
  • $30,000 to City of South Perth for community concerts at Sir James Millar Park.
  • $602,000 to convert the existing open Hurlingham Drain and part of the surrounding grass area into a planted, living stream.
  • $77,000 to plant 592 trees in areas of high urban heat in Karawara, Cygnia Cove, and Waterford, expanding the urban canopy to improve biodiversity and liveability.
  • A new state-of-the-art flood rescue boat has been provided to the Canning-South Perth SES, enhancing their emergency response capabilities.
  • A Waste Sorted grant enabled the upgrade of 11 recycling bins along the South Perth Foreshore with new signage, informational stickers, and special containers to collect plastic bottle tops, which require
    separate recycling.
  • New computers provided for classrooms at Djinda Boodja in Waterford.
  • Perth Zoo & UWA have partnered in a research project funded to conduct the world's first genome mapping of Western Australia's Fauna emblem, the numbat, using blood sample provided by Perth
    Zoo.
