Como Secondary College holds a special place in the heart of the South Perth community. Generations of children from across our suburbs have received a first-class education and benefited from its extensive facilities.

I have been able to secure as part of the Cook Government’s 2024/25 budget, $600,000 to plan the upgrades and new facilities to modernise Como Secondary College. I have been engaging with stakeholders, parents, and students to gather input on what they would like to see as part of an upgrade to Como Secondary College.

Over my term in Government, I have also delivered on the following commitments for Como Secondary College:

  • Canteen Refurbishment & Multipurpose Facility - $1 million in funding was delivered for refurbishments to Como Secondary College, officially opened in May 2022. This included the new multi-purpose facility and the newly refurbished canteen, now known as Maali Cafe.
  • STEM Learning Space - Como Secondary College received $600,000 for a new STEM learning space as part of our investment in our schools.
  • School Car Park Upgrade - $300,000 was provided to extend and improve the school car park, reducing traffic hazards during the before and after school peak periods.
