The Cook Labor Government is continuing its tough stance on crime and anti-social behaviour with a $22.5 million Community Safety package that delivers more CCTV cameras in South Perth and other key locations to protect families and businesses.

This investment will see 64 new CCTV cameras installed in known crime hot spots across WA, including South Perth, as well as a $1 million state-wide CCTV grant program to further boost community security.

In addition, the package includes stronger laws to tackle crime, including a new offence making it illegal to ‘post and boast’ about hooning, violence, property damage and other criminal activity online and new powers for retailers and shopping centres to ban individuals engaged in violent or intimidating behaviour.

WA Labor has a strong track record of tackling crime and the drivers of it. These measures will ensure South Perth remains a safe, vibrant community for residents and businesses.
