The transition to underground power in Manning is nearing completion. Energy Minister Bill Johnston joined me to watch this power pole being removed from Henning Crescent today.

So far across the three work zones in Manning 985 wooden poles have been removed, 35 kilometres of overhead cable have been removed, and 667 LED streetlights have been installed for improved safety, aesthetic and environmental outcomes.

The projects are jointly funded by the WA Government and City of South Perth.

The next phase of the underground power project will begin in late 2022 in the Kensington and Hurlingham areas.
